The Opera House is a unique place to hold your next performance, conference, meeting or wedding.

The beautiful Oamaru Opera House stands on Thames Street, an intact, heritage-listed nineteenth century streetscape.

For over a century the Opera House has represented the heart, soul and passions of Oamaru. It has been a hub for social, political and cultural activity and continues to evolve as a venue for performing arts, functions and conferences.

The building was officially opened on October 7, 1907 and remains largely in its original condition, having been restored in 2010, winning a NZIA Heritage award.

Our team have over 20 years experience in event planning & management. We work with small groups of 5 to large audiences of over 500, whether it be a small business meeting, or a rock concert, we have the staff on hand to help you get your next event up and running. One of the most lavish theatrical events of all time, the original St Petersburg staging of The Sleeping Beauty in 1890 was a spectacular illustration of the Russian Imperial style at its zenith. Today it remains the cornerstone of The Russian National Ballet Theatre's repertory.

Isla is an internationally acclaimed recording artist, her beautiful voice combining country folk songs to easy listening, presenting an unforgettable evening.
Isla's spellbinding concert features her wonderful hit songs and takes a nostalgic look at her long and successful career.
Al Grant, Isla's genial and talented husband, will join her on stage to bring his irrepressible humour to the show, also featuring his tribute to Jim Reeves. Isla's farewell concert performance will be a 'Grand' International concert, not to be missed.

Glenn Miller Orchestra returns to NZ due to popular request and in remembrance of the ANZAC centenary. Take a sentimental journey down memory lane with the world famous orchestra plus The Moonlight Serenade Singers and The Broadway Swing Dancers in a spectacular concert of the greatest hits of the ‘Big Band’ era.
