The Opera House is a unique place to hold your next performance, conference, meeting or wedding.

The beautiful Oamaru Opera House stands on Thames Street, an intact, heritage-listed nineteenth century streetscape.

For over a century the Opera House has represented the heart, soul and passions of Oamaru. It has been a hub for social, political and cultural activity and continues to evolve as a venue for performing arts, functions and conferences.

The building was officially opened on October 7, 1907 and remains largely in its original condition, having been restored in 2010, winning a NZIA Heritage award.

Our team have over 20 years experience in event planning & management. We work with small groups of 5 to large audiences of over 500, whether it be a small business meeting, or a rock concert, we have the staff on hand to help you get your next event up and running. Dunedin RSA Choirs ANZAC Revue
Dunedin RSA Choirs ANZAC Revue

The Dunedin RSA Choir had its origins on the grim Gallipoli battlefield in 1915 and are now recognised as one of Dunedin's premier choirs and were recently described by one reviewer as 'iconic'.
The Choir will be presenting their ANZAC revue - Gallipoli 100 Years On - which attracts their largest audience of the year when they perform at the Dunedin Town Hall on ANZAC day.
The Oamaru Opera House is very proud to have the Dunedin RSA Choir perform this very special ANZAC revuehere, accompanied by guest performers.

Moscow ballet la classique return downunder with their spectacular masterpiece - Sleeping beauty - Ballet's most loved fairytale. Established in 1990 by its current director Elik Melikov, with their internationally acclaimed ballet skills, lavish costumes and magnificent stage sets, the illustrious La Classique takes you on a mystical journey to the fairytale world of Princess Aurora, The Sleeping Beauty.

Two acclaimed New Zealand stage personalities, ballet dancer Sir Jon Trimmer and actor Helen Moulder, have combined their talents in a unique combination of drama and dance.

In the dance of life Syliva has two left feet, but Karpovsky has arrived to tutor her in hope and grace. Years ago, Sylvia travelled the world and its greatest ballet theatres; now she lives alone in a house filled with photographs of her favourite dancer and boxes of her daughter's unwanted possessions. Syliva knows all the dances and has all the moves in her head, but is afraid to step out. Then the great dancer Alexander Karpovsky - she has seen him dance 127 times - turns up mysteriously in her lonely room and breaks through her brittle cocoon.

One of the most lavish theatrical events of all time, the original St Petersburg staging of The Sleeping Beauty in 1890 was a spectacular illustration of the Russian Imperial style at its zenith. Today it remains the cornerstone of The Russian National Ballet Theatre's repertory.

Isla's spellbinding concert features her wonderful hit songs and takes a nostalgic look at her long and successful career.
Al Grant, Isla's genial and talented husband, will join her on stage to bring his irrepressible humour to the show, also featuring his tribute to Jim Reeves. Isla's farewell concert performance will be a 'Grand' International concert, not to be missed.
